Support Women Artists
Since 2017, SOLA has invested more than $200,000 directly in Washington women artists through unrestricted awards, honoraria, and professional support.
Your gift helps mature women artists receive the recognition, visibility, and financial support they deserve.
SOLA is recognized as a 501(c)(3) exempt organization by the IRS and all donations are tax-deductible by law.
Sponsor a SOLA Award
A $5,000 SOLA Award provides unrestricted support to a Washington woman artist age 60 or older with a significant record of creative accomplishment and more than 25 years dedicated to her artistic practice. Through their work, these artists have shaped communities, mentored generations of artists, and strengthened Washington's cultural ecosystem for decades.
SOLA exists to ensure their contributions are seen, celebrated, and supported—not only through financial awards, but through community, recognition, and legacy-building opportunities.
Plant a Seed
SOLA began when two artists and best friends, Ginny Ruffner and Marge Levy, came together to support other women artists.
As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary and honor the legacy of co-founders and best friends Ginny Ruffner and Marge Levy, we invite you to help plant the seeds for the next decade of artist support, recognition, and creative possibility.

Seed Circles
Seed Circles are groups of three or more friends and allies of women artists who come together to collectively sponsor a $5,000 SOLA Award.
SOLA can help you gather your circle, explore possibilities, and create an award that reflects your connection to women artists, creative legacy, or someone you wish to honor.
We would be honored to talk with you about creating a meaningful gift.
